intro：In 1965, Northern Spain. To promote local economic development, the government constructed the Dibaria Dam at the request of the residents of the town of Marienbe, which would soon be submerged underwater along with the nearby towns. Two mischievous boys, Theo (played by Santiago Pasaglia) and Luis (played by Omar Muñoz), sneak into the exclusion zone and discover a group of strange people conducting a terrifying ritual in a bizarre house. Theo is killed and Luis flees in panic. As the town sinks beneath the water, the incident begins to be forgotten. On the 40th anniversary of the completion of the Dibaria Dam, a young man, Antonio (played by Damià Plensa), goes missing while swimming with his girlfriend, Susanna (played by Pilar Soto), and Clara (played by Charlotte Salt). With a large-scale police search underway, the town and its buried secrets, long dormant at the bottom of the lake for 40 years, begin to resurface... This film is based on the original novel of the same name by Matthew Costello.
