At the same time, avian influenza virus was detected in a nearby chicken farm, disrupting the peaceful life of farm owner Kamikura and his daughter (Chizuru Ikewaki). Rei Dan was tasked with guiding the epidemic prevention efforts and old acquaintance Satoshi Tsumabuki served as her assistant. The epidemic quickly spread, with the death toll reaching two thousand within a month, causing panic and international concern, prompting the government to rapidly seal off the affected areas. Satoshi Tsumabuki accidentally discovered that the source of the virus might be elsewhere, and results from overseas tests supported his assessment. He decided to travel abroad to investigate the source of the outbreak. In the face of an unprecedented epidemic, each of them—Satoshi Tsumabuki, Rei Dan, and Kamikura—would face tests of their own choices.
