    Synopsis

    《United States Netflix movies Masterpiece Directed by: Adam McKay Synopsis: Astronomy graduate student Kate (played by Jennifer Lawrence) and her mentor Dr. Randall (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) make a shocking discovery during their research: a comet the size of the Himalayas is speeding towards Earth, and if all goes as expected, it will reach Earth in six months, destroying everything here. Kate and Randall approach President Orlean (played by Meryl Streep), hoping she will take the matter seriously, but instead they are met with ridicule and disdain. Subsequently, the mentor and student turn to the media for help, deciding to bypass the government and reveal this secret directly to the public; however, the results are far from satisfactory. Moreover, Kate is arrested by the FBI for leaking national secrets. When President Orlean finds herself embroiled in a scandal involving explicit photos, she finally remembers these two poor scientists and decides to give them another chance by announcing to the world through the government that the Earth is about to be destroyed.
