Soon, the young people, unwilling to let their achievements be taken by the government, call on Richard's friend Ben (played by Jamie Bell) to secretly venture into that unknown world. However, they become infected by a mysterious energy. After that, they gain abilities such as body stretching, fire control, rock transformation, and invisibility. In order to revert back to their former selves, the young people head back to the quantum gate, where a companion they left behind waits for them in the other world...
