Three university students, Adem (played by Aaron Ashmore), Frederic (played by Kyle Schmid), and Chen Ling (played by Steph Song), travel to Banks Island in northern Canada, ready to assist ecologist David Kupran (played by Val Kilmer) in local research. They discover the corpse of a polar bear left behind by Dr. Kupran at the research station, at which point the doctor and his team have been infected by a mysterious virus carried by the polar bear. As the glaciers melt, this deadly virus awakens from its eternal slumber...
